Tania
I was practicing and studying at a Buddhist meditation centre in Hawthorn in 2010 when I met Tania. Tania would bounce into meditation practice with a warm greeting for everyone, plonk herself down on a cushion and quietly smile to herself like she held the secrets to the universe. I can’t be certain that she does know the secrets of it all but I wouldn’t put it past her. She is quite the beautiful enigma who radiates compassion, kindness and love.
When I joined a meditation centre closer to home, I made sure that Tania and I remained in contact. We are fairly new friends and I am really enjoying getting to know this extraordinarily layered woman. Her travel stories captivate me, her adorable kiwi accent makes me smile and her sense of benevolence inspires me deeply. And like the lotus flower tattoos on her arm, I am looking forward to the unfolding of our friendship over time.
Here are a few images of a quiet Saturday afternoon at Tania’s house where we drank cups of tea and spoke of her travels in Nepal.
